A Christian Life

Reflecting upon the various mysteries of a Christian Life one thing that for surely awestruck us is nothing but the most Holy Cross of our Lord. In this world to undergo suffering is for surely said in the scriptures. John 16:33 clearly says, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Brothers and Sisters when I personally look and contemplate on the way stations of the cross, I really find our life to be very similar to what Lord went through the stations.

E.g.- when we go to church, naturally if its summer time we would like to sit in front of a fan or a very comfortable place. But, have we pondered over the stations… the one who executes neither he gets fan nor the one who is being executed.

Our Christian life is challenging, a challenge if taken then nothing can stop us from becoming great saints. This is what is done by various saints, they picked up the challenge and truly today they are who they really are. The above scripture verse gives us assurance that no matter what happens nothing can happen to us for the Lord has conquered this world.

We often fall, sometimes those inner promptings which lord gives seem to be dead, sometimes our anxious heart destroys the trust in lord or sometimes it may feel who cares for me. But, nothing can separate us from the Love of the Lord (Romans 8:38-39). When hearts breaks, trust destroyed and hatred takes over, are we in that condition to look at the cross on which the redeemer of this world hangs. Prophet Isaiah in Chapter 53 how beautifully explains the agony of our Lord… the master has led the example but are we ready to accept the challenge?
When tossed by the waves of this life we shouldn’t lose hope for Psalm 34:18 say,”  “The LORD is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit.” Giving all to Jesus in prayer (1Peter 5:7), uniting our pain with His truly what the essence of a Christian life is. Recalling the words of a beautiful hymn:

What a friend we have in Jesus all our sins and grieves to bear
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer
Oh what peace we often forfeit of what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer
Have we trials and temptations is there trouble anywhere
If we have don’t be discouraged take it to the Lord in prayer

Let’s all take up the challenge and become the saints of New Millennium!!!
